Introduction

The year 2020 has come with great challenges to the whole world. This new decade began with the covid-19 pandemic affecting the health and economic systems of many countries and exposed the faults of the organization of many countries counter pandemic. Besides that, in Brazil, the Amazon rainforest is on fire, the forest who absorb quantities of CO² now instead releases it into the atmosphere. The fire in the forest is not just a Brazilian problem, in these lasts months the world saw the fires in the state of California that took down lots of houses and became a big problem to the people who live both near or far from the forest mainly because of the smoke released by the fire.

Database

The source of all data used to analyze the US situation is FIRMS, Fire Information for Resouces Management System, supported by NASA. On the data, we can find information about the localization, date, the quantity of radiation, and other attributes. For the data about Brazil, it is source is INPE, the National Institute for Space Research.

Pre-processing data

Data visualization

In the map above an expressive quantity of fire is located on the Us’s west coast. The fire is centered on the state of California where the victims people are living. The quantity of frp showed on the map is the pixel-integrated fire radiative power in MW (megawatts).

In Brazil, the fire is majorly located on the edge of the Amazon forest and the center of the country. The fire is killing many animals, some begin at the risk of extinction altogether.

Conclusion

The forest fires are a big problem nowadays, putting at risk the condition of the planet earth and may pose a greater problem next generation. The lack of organization by the leaders on fighting global heating is expressive. It is important to see the long game, thinking about the next generations, and taking care of the planet now to be able to use it in the future, both the vegetation and many species of animals that can become extinct in few years.
